Tipp mental health group dealing with referrals

Jigsaw, the national centre for youth mental health, is to start dealing with referrals from its new Tipperary headquarters in Thurles from Monday, July 26, members of Tipperary County Council were told at the July meeting.

Director of Services Pat Slattery said consultations would initially be dealt with by phone and online and face-to-face consultations were planned to start in August.

Cllr Pat English asked if there had been any mention in a report provided by Jigsaw to the council about its stated plans to open outreach hubs in Nenagh and Clonmel.

Mr Slattery said there was no mention of the outreach hubs. He said Jigsaw was committed first to rolling out the service from Thurles and then opening the two hubs in Nenagh and Clonmel once staff training was completed.
