Tipperary Camogie Scene
Intermediate: Tipperary Intermediates received a huge boost when recently capturing the Munster crown after a somewhat disappointing Division 2 League campaign.
In fact, a fine display against Dublin in a relegation playoff was the start in the turnaround of Tipperary’s fortunes. Additions to Tipp’s panel of Drom’s Deirdre Dunne and Mary Burke moving from the Senior squad reserves to a pivotal midfield role for the intermediates have strengthened this squad. Experienced Kiladangan full forward Sinead Meagher and expert point scorer and free-taker Jenny Grace have given Tipp a fulcrum in attack and Annacarty’s Gemma Grace has moved to centre back having played earlier in the league at wing forward. Nenagh’s Sarah Quigley has had a fine League campaign with Niamh Long, Cristina Brennan and Ciara Ryan both tidy fast and effective in defence. Courtney Ryan has slotted into midfield with Mary Burke. Claire Hogan and Jillanne Quirke bring some youth and pace to our Tipperary attack with Sarsfields 2019 Intermediate League winning pair Emma Carey and Nicola Loughnane added further experience.
Minor: Tipperary minors play both Galway and Dublin in the Tesco All Ireland Minor Championship starting on August 1st. Tipperary played Limerick recently in the Munster Minor Championship losing narrowly after a second half comeback rally was too late.
