Ballymackey and Ardrconey to clash in Motor Neurone fundraiser

The Ann Gilmour Memorial Shield takes place this Sunday, 25th July in Ardcroney at 2.00pm

The official launch of the inaugural Ann Gilmour Memorial Shield took place in Ballinree recently.

Jamie Gilmour has organised and is sponsoring this Shield competition which will be contested annually between Ballymackey FC and Ardcroney FC.

Everyone involved in the local football scene will know that Jamie has had a long association with the game in North Tipperary, both at underage and adult level. Ardcroney and Ballymackey are two clubs that Jamie has a particular association with, having coached at both clubs over the years.

Ann Gilmore passed away on April 25th 2016 from Motor Neurone Disease. She fought a brave battle against the illness and was supported all the way by her husband Jamie, and her loving family. Present also at the launch were members of Ann’s family, players of both clubs and committee members.

The Ann Gilmour Memorial Shield takes place this Sunday, 25th July in Ardcroney at 2.00pm in association with the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. The hope is that much needed funds for the Irish Motor Neurones Disease Association can be raised between now and Sunday. To donate, go to: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/gary-toohey
