Local fundraising concert benefits Living Links

Looking back to the March 7, 2020, the concert titled ‘Wish You Were Here’ going ahead five days before Lockdown was a blessing.

Especially seeing the circumstances that were to follow in the last 16 months. Organiser Anthony White was proud to recently present the proceeds from the concert, a cheque of €700, to Carmel Toohey, Treasurer from Tipperary Living Links - an amazing organisation that supports those bereaved by suicide. Anthony would also like to thank a few people for helping to make the concert possible:

“Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came and supported us on the night,” he said. “Looking back, we were so lucky to be able to have a crowd indoors, especially since the current restrictions were put in place right after it! Also, a massive thank you to those who donated and sponsored the event.

“I’d like to especially thank Paddy Rohan’s pub, Carey’s Glass, Subway, Donal Smith Solicitors, and Nenagh Credit Union, and those who wish to remain anonymous for sponsoring the event. To everyone who bought the wristbands last summer and who made donations to Living Links, thank you so much for supporting this worthy cause.

“I’d also like to thank Tipp FM and the Nenagh Guardian for helping to advertise the event with the help of Simon O’Duffy and Odhran Ducie, who helped to promote the event with their writing and photography for the newspaper and social media. Thank you to Philip Talbot for helping to sell the tickets prior to the event, taking bookings to help push the concert. Overall the concert was a success and, judging by the fantastic feedback, a very enjoyable night was had by all! Thanks again to Living Links for trusting me to present them with another donation, having organised two previous events in support of them in July 2015 and February 2019.”
