Goals galore in second round of North Tipp Ladies Soccer League

Ballymackey got their North Tipperary League campaign off to a great start with an 8-0 win at home to an understrength Arra Rovers.

Goals from Joanne Ryan, Kate Cavanagh and Dani Ryan gave the girls a 3-0 lead at the break. Ballymackey were able to introduce fresh legs from a strong bench at half time and this made the difference as the half wore on and the visitors tired. Kate Cavanagh added a second with Chelsea White and Hazel Cawley also grabbing two apiece to push out the final score.

Birdhill hosted near neighbours Lough Derg and had a fine 5-0 win with goals from Shauna Curtin, Aisling Mulryan, Emma Coleman and a brace from Emma Flanagan.

Shinrone came from two goals down twice to earn a draw away to Holycross. Siobhan Hennessey, Kim Ryan and Miah Bourke were on the mark for Holycross with Shinrone’s replies coming from Lauren Maher,Jade Quinlan and Karina Mullally.

Killavilla United travelled to Templemore to take on BT Harps with a strong Harp’s side prevailing 7-2. Norma Maher and Mary Corcoran contributed a hat-trick a piece while Chloe Kirwan also scored for the home side, with Killavilla’s replies coming from Tara McDonald and Nicole Brooks.
