Kerry1-14

By Shane Brophy

Tipperary progressed past a gutsy Kerry challenge and into a Munster Minor Hurling semi-final following this victory at the LIT Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

James Woodlock’s charges had to pull up their socks in the second half after leading 1-10 to 1-7 at the break after Kerry dominated the second quarter, helped by a Killian Boyle goal.

However, a Darragh Guinan goal on the stroke of half time gave Tipperary a flattering three point advantage at the break.

Tipp came out a more focused team after half time with Conor Martin, Darragh Minogue and Orrin Jones the scorers in chief while Darragh Guinan scored his second goal, finishing from close range after a surging Darragh Minogue run.

Kerry played to the end an a ten point contribution from Felim O’Sullivan was impressive but they were outclassed for a finish as Tipp progress to a semi-final with Waterford on Thursday 22nd July.
