Kiladangan and Loughmore to meet in repeat of 2020 County Senior Hurling Final

By Liam Hogan

Memories of Kiladangan’s victory over Loughmore Castleiney in last year’s memorable county senior hurling final were revived after the pair were drawn together in Group 3 of this year’s County Senior Hurling championship.

The draws for the group stages of the 2021 County Hurling and Football Championships took place live on Tipp FM last Monday night.

Kiladangan will also have to contend with J K Brackens who gave them a major fright in the opening round of the 2020 championship. Moycarkey-Borris complete the group.

Group 1 sees a mini mid Tipp championship as Thurles Sarsfields face rivals Drom Inch and Upperchurch-Drombane, with Éire Óg Annacarthy completing the group.

In Group 2 each of the four divisions has a representative as Clonoulty Rossmore, champions in 2018 take on Toomevara, Holycross-Ballycahill and Mullinahone who gained promotion following their Seamus O’Riain victory over Lorrha last year.

Meanwhile Group 4 has an all North feel to it as 2019 champions Borris-Ileigh are drawn with last year’s beaten semi finalists Nenagh Eire Og while Kilruane MacDonaghs and Roscrea make up the quartet.
