Great interest on vaccine option at Tipp pharmacists

Several Tipperary pharmacies are now offering the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson single-dose Covid-19 vaccine to people aged 50 or over.

Pharmacies across the country joined the roll-out of the vaccination programme last Monday. Initially, 60,000 doses of the vaccine will be distributed to participating pharmacies.

It has been reported that pharmacists are experiencing a greater than expected interest from people in getting vaccinated against Covid-19 at their local pharmacies.

These will be administered to people aged 50 and over, who have not yet been vaccinated.

There is no need to register online for the service but people will need to book an appointment with their pharmacist.

Tipperary pharmacies offering the vaccine include: Anna Kelly Pharmacy, Nenagh; Coffey’s Allcare Pharmacy, Roscrea; Dalton’s Pharmacy, Fethard; Grogan’s Pharmacy & Opticans, Ballina; Guerin’s Pharmacy, Nenagh; Haven Pharmacy, Carrick-on-Suir; Hylands CarePlus Pharmacy, Templemore; James F O’Sullivan, Fethard; Kirbys Pharmacy, Tipperary Town; Kissanes Pharmacy, Tipperary Town.

Around 1,300 pharmacists across Ireland have begun administering jabs and further details are available at www.hse.ie.
