Busy year end at Nenagh College

Leaving Certificate Graduation 2021: The Leaving Certificate class of 2021 came together at the end of this school year (albeit in different circumstances) to celebrate their last five-to-six years in Nenagh College. The graduation was live streamed to each Leaving Certificate classroom. While not the graduation that many would have liked, it was beautifully put together by Ms Quigley with special words from their Year Head, Ms Clarke, LCA Co-ordinator Mr Johnston, teacher Ms O’ Gorman, parent Mr Declan Kinsella and a blessing from Fr Des Hillery. There was also a special message on behalf of school management, Mr Damien Kennedy and Mr Stephen O’ Meara.

A special thank you to the Sixth Year students who did readings for the ceremony. Also thank you to First Year student Gaja Lustrynowicz (sibling of Sixth Year student) who read a heartfelt message to the Leaving Cert class of 2021. Finally thank you to Ms Beirne and Ms Knight for the beautiful artwork and to Trish and her team of Get Fresh for the refreshments.

On a final note, Nenagh College would like to wish the Leaving Certificate class the very best for the future. You will be missed.

5 LCA: 5LCA completed their enterprise module as part of Vocational Preparation and Guidance (VPG).

Students undertook a study of entrepreneurs in Ireland and then they came up with their own ideas to become budding entrepreneurs - they narrowed their choice down to a car wash and a pop up lunch time shop.

They donated a percentage of their profits from their mini-companies to charity.

Their teacher Ms O’ Keeffe is very proud of all their hard work and the learning gained from their involvement in enterprise education.

Computer Science at Nenagh College: Nenagh College Fifth Year Computer Science class recently had a webinar with Keith Quille, who is a lecturer of computing in the Technological University Dublin. Keith covered a wide range of topics including Python, the Von Neumann Architecture and the Turing Machine. It was a very informative and interesting webinar.
