Fixtures for outstanding 2020 GAA Club competitions confirmed
Tipperary County Board have confirmed the dates for the outstanding semi-finals and finals from 2020.
The first junior ‘A’ hurling semi-final between Toomevara and Arravale Rovers has been fixed for Saturday 19th June. On the same day, Carrick Swan and Grangemockler/Ballyneale will meet in the South final, with the winners playing Holycross/Ballycahill in the county semi-final on Saturday 26th June, with the County final expected to be played on weekend 3-4 July, with the winners playing in the 2021 intermediate championship within a few weeks.
Both Under 21 Football finals will be played on Saturday 26th June with the ‘A’ final between Arravale Rovers and Grangemockler/Ballyneale at 2.30pm, although this game will be deferred if Grangemockler are in the junior ‘A’ hurling semi-final.
The Under 21 ‘B’ Football final between Ballina and Upperchurch/Drombane will be played in Dolla at 2.30pm on Saturday 26th June.
Also on the same day, the two junior ‘B’ hurling semi-finals will also be played with Silvermines taking on the West champions, while Gortnahoe/Glengoole will meet the South winners, both competitions to be completed in the coming weeks.
2020 North Finals
In terms of the North Board, they have confirmed fixtures for their two outstanding finals from 2020, with Saturday 19th June seeing the Junior ‘A’ football final between Ballina and Portroe being played in Ballina at 7.00pm, while the Junior ‘C’ hurling semi-final between Nenagh Eire Og and Roscrea will be played at the same time with venue to be confirmed, with Ballinahinch awaiting the winners in the final.
2021 competitions
The North Bord also plan to start their 2021 Junior Hurling Leagues on Saturday 19th June. Senior/Intermediate clubs that are entering a second team will have to name their first fifteen players.
A North Intermediate Hurling League is scheduled to start on Saturday 3rd July with games to be played on a round-robin basis among the four teams (Ballinahinch, Borrisokane, Moneygall and Shannon Rovers) without county players, with final standings providing seeing for semi-finals when all players are available.
The Under 19 Hurling Championship will commence on Wednesday 30th June. The seven clubs are divided into a group of 3 and a group of 4. The top 2 teams in Group 1 and the top team in Group 2 go straight to semi-finals. The second team in Group 2 plays the bottom team in Group 1 in Playoff for the final semi-final place.
The U19 ‘B’ grade will have two groups of 4 with the top two teams in each group progressing to the semi-finals.
