Webinar to showcase investing opportunities in Tipp

HBAN (Halo Business Angel Network), the all-island organisation responsible for the promotion of business angel investment, and a joint initiative of Enterprise Ireland, InterTradeIreland and Invest Northern Ireland, will be hosting an online ‘Angel Investing South East Showcase’ webinar on the afternoon of Thursday, June 3rd, from 12 noon-1pm. The event is for investors and people considering becoming investors in Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford, Carlow, Kilkenny and Laois and is being organised by the South East Business Angel Network (SEBAN).

The webinar aims to encourage more business angel investing in Ireland’s South East, and will highlight regional investment opportunities and benefits for investor and start-ups. Industry thought leaders will be on hand to demystify angel investing and provide practical information on how to get the most out of backing Ireland’s most innovative start-ups. The webinar will also outline the level of commitment business angels need to provide, and how they can join like minded business angels in collaborative syndicates.

Aidan Shine, HBAN Co-Ordinator for the South East region will moderate a panel discussion featuring prominent angel investor Karl Fitzpatrick, who will provide insights on the investor experience and the 2021 pipeline of pre-qualified investment opportunities. Also on the panel will be CEO of fintech start-up Loanitt, John Duggan, who will discuss the benefits of working with angels for an entrepreneur. Last year Loanitt secured a €570,000 investment from HBAN syndicate, South East Business Angel Network (SEBAN), along with Enterprise Ireland to accelerate its expansion.

The event will also feature Aidan O’Driscoll, HBAN Co-ordinator for the South West region and founder of Irrus Investments – the Life Sciences investment group – who will overview the due diligence process and other steps to be aware of on the angel investing journey. Attendees will also be invited to take part in a Q&A session.

A joint initiative of Enterprise Ireland, InterTradeIreland and Invest Northern Ireland, HBAN’s South East-based syndicate is part of the broader National HBAN network, enabling angel investors to find the best investment opportunities on the island of Ireland. SEBAN is primarily interested in companies located in, or connected to, the South East – providing mentorship, support and networking avenues for high-potential start-ups.
