James from Clonmel: Base yourself in Clonmel, and while you are there, visit St Patrick’s Well, which is just outside the town. The site is an oasis of calm and full of history. It is the perfect spot to relax with your family. Bring a picnic blanket and relax for a couple of hours in this ancient site.

Mary from Thurles: Thurles Town Park is a riverside park on an 8.5-acre site; it includes a children’s play area, multi-use games area, outdoor exercise area, and a skateboard park. There are lovely buggy-friendly paths and walkways with a pedestrian bridge over the River Suir.

Vera from Bansha: We drove through the Vee, starting at Lismore in County Waterford and ending at Clogheen in County Tipperary, and the scenery is spectacular. Our tip: take your time, stopping frequently and soak in the atmosphere and the scenery.

Jack from Tipperary Town: Founded in 1896, Tipperary Golf Club is one of the oldest clubs in Ireland. Set in the shadows of the Galtee Mountains on the road to the scenic Glen of Aherlow. As you walk down the fairways, contemplate this the organically maintained greens are up there with the best greens in the country – fast, pure and healthy.

Bernie from Killaloe: Ice cream is happy food, which is true of Scoops in Ballina; this little oasis of happiness is geared towards making all of the family happy. They serve over ten different flavours. Our tip: the Unicorn Flavoured ice cream is pure magic.

Sinéad from Cashel: Go to the home of Crossogue Preserves, a short drive from Holycross village and take the ‘Taste & Trek’ tour. You will be buzzing with excitement to cook your next meal; we got the Quince and Chilli Jelly on a tour and have received rave reviews from all the family when we serve it with smoked salmon.

Eimear from Cahir: If you are looking to wander off the beaten track and experience the splendour of Tipperary’s landscape, Liam Lynch Loop from Goatenbridge is perfect for you. You’ll be rewarded with lush green countryside and rolling landscapes as you walk along the Glengalla River and take in fantastic views of the Knockmealdown Mountains.
