Hospice Coffee Morning raises €1 million nationally
Hospice Coffee Morning together with Bewley’s is proud to announce that over €1 million was raised during coffee mornings hosted in 2020.
The partnership has raised over €40 million for hospice and specialist palliative homecare services since beginning in 1992 raising vital funds for local hospices and specialist palliative homecare services nationwide.
Last year brought a new set of challenges to the running of the coffee mornings due to Covid-19 restrictions and socially distanced or virtual coffee mornings were encouraged to ensure the safety of attendees and the adherence of government guidelines. Nevertheless, over 1,600 coffee mornings took place with hosts rallying together to raise vital funds for hospice and specialist palliative homecare services nationwide.
Jason Doyle, Managing Director at Bewley’s Ireland & UK, commented: “To be part of this incredible fundraising milestone is something we at Bewley’s are very proud of, particularly with the year that was and against such adversity our loyal coffee morning hosts continued to raise so much for Hospices across the country. With Covid-19 creating obstacles for our usual activities in 2020, we are grateful to all of those who continued supporting their local Hospice by hosting virtual coffee mornings. As always, we, as providers, want to be able to deliver high quality and responsive services and with the support of this year’s contributors we can continue to do so into 2021.”
