Time to consider neutering of pets

We are now at the start of the mating season for dogs and cats and time to consider neutering your pet if you want to prevent an unwanted litter.

Tipperary Friends of Animals runs a subsidised neutering voucher scheme for dogs and cats whose owners are on low income or in receipt of a social welfare payment.

Under the scheme the owner pays €20 per cat and €30 per female dog. To obtain a voucher you should contact any of the participating vets:

A Country Practice, Nenagh 067 33725, Brittas Vets, Thurles 0504 24401, Summerhill Vets, Nenagh 067 31248

The society traps feral cats that cannot be caught by hand, some of these are on farms, others are strays fed by kind people. At the vets the cats are neutered and treated for parasites before being returned to their location.

The trapping is free of charge. The society asks for a donation towards the vet costs depending on the situation.

To arrange for cat trapping contact us on 086 8163707

The society is in receipt of an annual ex-gratia payment from the Department of Agriculture.
