Long serving North Tipperary & District League officer John Murphy has been made Honorary President of the League having stood aside as secretary, a role which he maintained for a long number of years with distinction.

Many know John as Mr. Football around North Tipperary and further afield with his lifelong contribution to the game over the years, John is the first ever Honorary President of the NT&DL.

His beloved club Thurles Town have benefited from his leadership, commitment and guidance over the years which was borne out with the recent successes enjoyed by the club. John also represented the NT&DL at both regional and national levels for many years with great distinction.

John will continue to be an active committee member with both the NT&DL and new secretary Adrian Cooke continuing to rely upon John's experience and knowledge as we work through the current pandemic which has greatly prohibited our playing season. The NT&DL are committed to ensuring that the 2020 season, which was almost at a conclusion, will be concluded before the 2021 season commences.
