New underage formats to be debated

Tipperary Coiste na nOg will meet tonight (Wednesday) to confirm how the new uneven age grades will work this year.

Last week, the Guardian released details of the proposals issued to clubs on how competitions in each grade might look, including the minor grade of under 17 which will now be run by Bord na nOg, rather than the senior board, a decision made at County Convention last month.

The proposals could see the under 17 grades in hurling and football played on a league basis up to the end of May when the inter-county minor championship has been completed, however, with Level 5 restrictions this inter-county championships could be delayed.

The meeting will also confirm how the under 11, 13 and 15 grades will be run in terms of the numbers of players aside, pitch size, number of substitutions and whether competition will be divisional only or not.
