Praise for 'Nenagh Live'

The 'Nenagh Live' social media initiative was praised at the December meeting of Nenagh Municipal District.

Featuring 15 nights of recordings, which can be watched back on the Nenagh Live Facebook page, it showcased a mixture of retail, memories of Nenagh and outstanding local talent, with omnibus editions on three Sundays. The meeting heard that feedback has been very positive.

Cllr Hughie McGrath commended District Administrator Rosemary Joyce on the success of the initiative. "It could very easily have been a commercial platform but it showed the people of the town," he said. "It showed what Nenagh is about. It interviewed genuine Nenagh people and it gave people a sense of pride in the town."

Cllr McGrath hoped the initiative would encourage more people to shop local.
