Nominate someone for the Volunteer Ireland Awards

The Volunteer Ireland Awards shine a light on the remarkable achievements of volunteers around the country by honoring them at a national level. This year more than ever ordinary people from every corner of the Premier County gave selfless of themselves to protect and assist our most vulnerable. While Covid-19 has changed the way we live our lives let's not forget the thousands of volunteers who volunteer in what we now call non-Covid related volunteer roles in communities from Lorrha to Carrick on Suir and everywhere in between.

These awards are our opportunity to say "Thank You". To say "We might not say it publicly but we really appreciate what you do". It's a simple process just go to the link below and complete the nomination form. You can nominate an Individual / Duo, a Volunteer Group, a Volunteer Manager or all three. It's up to you. All those nominated will receive a Thank You card from Volunteer Ireland - The National Development Agency for Volunteering They want to let everyone who is nominated know that their contributions are greatly valued and that someone took the time to put them forward for an award.

The closing date for nominations is Friday, October 9th.Volunteers from Tipperary have historically done very well at these awards with Nancy White from Lorrha and Ina Doyle from Clonmel winning the national award for their nominated category and Sr. Patricia Wall our own flying nun winning the Overall Christine Buckley volunteer of the year award in 2017. To date only 11 people from Tipperary have been nominated for this years awards. There are volunteers out there who give hours of their time weekly to make Tipperary the grea place it is.
