publicans risk the immediate closure of their pubs if in breach of the guidelines.

Gardai inspect local pubs and find them in compliance

A total of 43 pubs in Nenagh and surrounding areas have been inspected by gardaí in the past several days, and all have been found to be in compliance with Covid-19 public health measures. This was confirmed by a garda spokesman in Nenagh Garda Station on Tuesday.

Under legislation, publicans risk the immediate closure of their pubs and losing their liquor licences if they are found to be in breach of the measures. Garda Headquarters in Phoenix Park, Dublin, said that it had instructed gardaí across the country to begin inspections in pubs to ensure they were adhering to the public health measures.

Meanwhile, local gardaí seized cannabis herb with a estimated value of €1,000, after stopping a vehicle on the M7 at Tullaheady on Monday of this week. A person is due to appear in Nenagh District Court in relation to the matter on July 17th.
