Funds raised will be divided equally between two causes.

3,000km fundraising challenge for little Heidi and C-Saw

Gardaí and Garda staff in the Clonmel District are hoping to raise must needed funds to assist two local worthy causes by participating in an activity (walking/running/cycling) over a period of 48 hours.

Funds raised will be divided equally between two causes, the first beneficiary is Heidi Griffin, a two-year-old girl from Clerihan who has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy a condition which effects her lower limbs and prevents her from walking with ease. Heidi is undergoing life changing surgery at St Louis Children's Hospital, Missouri, USA which will hopefully result in Heidi walking unassisted and pain free. Heidi's family have already raised a considerable amount of money however they still face substantial costs as Heidi recovers for this surgery and we would like to support them.

The second beneficiary is C-Saw, a voluntary organisation based in Clonmel who provide a service to help reduce the number of suicides in South Tipperary and surrounding areas through raising awareness of this issue and by providing support to those in need. This event will commence at 7am on July 24th and will run until 7am on July 26th. Participants are aiming to cover 3000kms in this period of time.
