Leanne Gould and Hannah Grace

Lahorna girls reach All-Ireland Final

Last weekend saw the All-Ireland 40x20 Handball Championship reach the semi-final stages and the highlight had to be Hannah Grace and Leanne Gould's victory in the Under 16 Doubles.

Having home advantage in Nenagh, the Tipperary and Lahorna girls took on the Galway pair of Eadaoin Nic Donncha/Sky O Maille in what was a hugely exciting contest.

The Tipp girls were first to settle taking an early lead and closing out the first game on a score line of 21-19. The second set proved a much tougher challenge with the Galway girls storming back with some excellent serving to take the set 4-21. This put the contest to a tie-breaker where the Tipp girls proved their fighting spirit and took the victory 11-7. They are now through to an All-Ireland final in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan in two weeks’ time against Ulster opponents.

Also in Nenagh, Tipp and Lahorna player Christine Percy took on Roscommon's Shauna Corrigan in the Under 14 Singles All-Ireland semi-final.
