A string of late scores helped Tipperary to overcome Dublin and register their second win of this National League campaign on Sunday.
Played on a Bansha pitch which had hosted the Munster Colleges 'B' Hurling Final just 24 hours earlier, this was as competitive an affair as Tipp would have anticipated, with the game remaining in the balance right up to the closing stages.
Ultimately, Bill Mullaney’s side delivered a commanding last ten minutes, breaking away from their opponents through six unanswered points, having wrestled with Dublin ferociously for most of the preceding fifty minutes.
Even the shrewdest of marketing strategies generally struggle to attract spectators to League fixtures on drab February afternoons, but those who were in Bansha on Sunday will tell you that this was as good an endorsement of camogie as the current weather conditions would allow.
Whether it was just early-season enthusiasm, or two sets of players intent on proving themselves, the game had an edge to it, something which was particularly visible in the early stages of the second-half, which saw some fierce tackling and defensive play.
