A vastly improved performance from Nenagh Ormond still wasn’t enough for a result or points as they went down to a 13-point defeat to an excellent Cashel side last Friday night.

There was a lot to like about this Nenagh performance as they produced some excellent rugby, and easily their best display this season as the influence of new arrival Fionn McGibney, added some fresh verve and pace to their backline.

This was a match with ferocious intensity and the tackling was something to behold as it had all the earmarks of a derby game and indeed, it was close throughout with Nenagh just a point behind with ten minutes to go.

But Cashel are an impressive side and they were forced shift into top gear in this match to get the win, with two late tries eventually breaking the Nenagh effort as they climbed to second in the table with this bonus point victory.
