It’s a Tipperary v Limerick clash as Borrisokane Community College and Scoil na Trioniode Doon will meet in the Munster Post Primary Schools 'B' Hurling semi-final on Saturday.

It’s a big day for Borrisokane who are back in Roinn 'B' following their stretch of barren years which came to an end last year when they won the Munster and All Ireland 'C' title last March.

They meet Scoil Trionoide of Doon who reached the Munster 'B' quarter final last year when losing to Hamilton High School but for success they must look back to 2010 since last bringing home some silverware. Eire Og Annacarty’s Tom Fox was the mainstay that year.

Speaking of Annacarty, there are two Eire Og players on the Doon side with Cian Ryan and Stephen McDonald. Indeed one would think this was an all Tipperary clash as their ten players from Cappawhite on the panel with Tipp minor Gearoid Ryan on the side well assisted by Anthony Barry, Pakie Barry, Michael Carmody, Philip Gantley, Jack Armshaw, Cian Dooley and Gearoid Lennon while Ben White and Darragh Duggan are included on the subs bench.

Doon qualified for the last four after defeating Abbey CBS from Tipperary Town, a victory that was sufficient enough to help them reach the quarter final after losing their opening game against St Augustine’s of Waterford.

Doon needed two periods of extra time to get over Scoil Phobal Ros Cre in the quarter final in a high scoring encounter, 1-32 to 4-20. The manner in which the four goals were conceded was a source of worry for the Doon management.

Indeed Borrisokane Community College has their source of worry also. Against Charleville CBS they allowed Cormac O’Brien the luxury of scoring 1-18 (0-13f, 0-3’65); with the concession of far too many frees a source of concern for Sean Ryan and his team.

Instead it was the scoring of 3-1 in a four minute spell, during the early stages of the second ten minute period of extra time, that saw Borrisokane Community College go on to a seven point victory.
