Innovative art talk for Nenagh

Not your usual art talk! ‘The Lady and the Unicorn’ is a fun 55 minute multimedia one-woman show coming to Nenagh Arts Centre on Saturday, February 1st, at 8pm.
With the aid of a screen/projector and a table full of props Carol O’Neill celebrates and explores her favourite artworks inspired one way or another by Celtic mythology.
Over 30 artists are celebrated including medieval unicorn tapestries with hidden mysteries and mythical Dragons that inspired Andy Warhol and are still inspiring Hollywood today. Amazing artists Yayoi Kusama, Damien Hirst and Raphael get a mention, among others. Mermaids! Unicorns and dragons! Oh my!
It is a very visual show with lots of laughs to accompany the quirky stories behind the artworks.
The show is currently on tour around Ireland and recently played at the Lahti fringe festival in Finland. The Irish embassy in Finland came to the show and described it as a ‘Fascinating and very fun exploration of the influence of Celtic mythology on art’. Plus free chocolates for everyone! Learn, laugh and be inspired with this show.
Tickets priced at €10/ €8 are on sale now at the Nenagh Arts Centre Box Office, on 067 34400 or online at www.nenagharts.com.
