Baritone Dylan Rooney performed to packed audiences at Ballinree Church.

Rooney concert organisers thank supporters

The organisers of the Christmas performances by local Baritone Dylan Rooney have said they wish to thank the many people who supported the two concerts which attracted large crowds to Ballinree Church.
The church was packed to capacity on both nights, Saturday and Sunday, December 21st and 22nd, when Dylan and friends wowed the audiences with a selection of wonderful Yuletide carols and other festive favourites.
One of the organisers Fran O'Brien told The Guardian this week that the crowds who attended were thrilled with the performances. She said: "We are still receiving compliments from people who attended and who really enjoyed themselves and are already asking about the next one."
The concerts were organised by a small group of local people whose ambition it is to expose the wider public to Dylan Rooney's superb talent as an up and coming baritone of international standard and to generate funds to help fund his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where he is doing an MA in Music Performance.
The organisers said the two performances underlined the huge support there is for Dylan in the community. They thanked local shops and companies who have helped sponsor Dylan's tuition fees. "We are very grateful to everyone who supported him," said Fran O'Brien.
The organisers thanked all of Dylan's singing friends who travelled from all parts of the country on the night and who treated the crowds to some wonderful songs. There were: Soprano, Caroline Behan; Mezzo-Soprano, Katie Richardson McCrea; Tenor, David Kennedy and Concert Pianist, Máire Carroll.
