New houses for Borrisokane

Construction of 16 new council houses in Borrisokane is expected to commence in January.

Comprising one four-bedroom two-storey house, five three-bedroom two-storey houses, six two-bedroom two-storey houses and four two-bedroom single-storey houses, the development is take place at Shesheraghmore.

Cllr Michael O'Meara (Ind) sought a timeframe for the development at last month's meeting of Nenagh Municipal District. Senior Engineer Kieran Malone said tenders for the project are back and the matter has been referred to the Dept of Housing again. The council will appoint a contractor as soon as it gets approval.

Mr Malone said the construction phase should begin in January. He hoped the houses would be complete in late 2020 or early 2021.
