Borrisokane bridged a three year gap to claim their seventh North Tipperary Minor 'B' Football title when they defeated Portroe in a well contested final last Friday.

Although they were the better side throughout, they didn’t achieve their win without giving their supporters a fright. They look to have had the game won by the 40th minute when leading 0-13 to 0-5 but they allowed Portroe come back into it and Borrisokane needed heroic work by their defence in the last quarter to hold out.

Then entering the last ten minutes, county minor hurling panellist Conor Ryan secured two points but yet Portroe clawed back the six point deficit to see Sam Madden and Patrick Finn score a point each before time elapsed.

Prior to the commencement of the game, there was a minutes silence for referee Michael Cahill who had died on the previous Thursday and John Delaney spoke about the popular Kilruane official before presenting the cup and concluded by asking for a round of applause.
