Roscrea and Borris-Ileigh set the pace at half way stage

Roscrea and Borris-Ileigh continue to set the pace in County Hurling League Division 1 after recording their third wins of the campaign in round 4 action last weekend.

In Group 1, Roscrea remain unbeaten following a 1-19 to 0-15 win away to Loughmore/Castleiney on Sunday.

Nenagh Eire Og moved into second place following a comprehensive 4-31 to 2-18 home win over Killenaule on Saturday who are rooted to the bottom of the group.

Nenagh started brightly and led by nine points by half time, 1-19 to 2-7, with Cian O'Farrell getting Éire Óg's goal.

Indeed O'Farrell, a Munster minor medal with Tipperary in 2018, had a fine game at corner forward finishing the game with a personal tally of 3-4, all from play. Killenaule's two goals came from Ger Browne and Darragh Fitzgerald who was playing his first senior competitive game for the club and he finished with a score of 1-7.

As the second half petered out as a contest Nenagh's fourth goal came courtesy of a Michael Heffernan 21 yard free and they held out for a comfortable nineteen point win.

After the previous weeks defeat to Roscrea, Portroe were looking for a change of fortune this week when they faced County champions Clonoulty/Rossmore in Portroe on Sunday and recorded an impressive 2-21 to 0-15 win.
