Toomevara produced a superb fightback to defeat their neighbours Kilruane MacDonaghs in a very entertaining North Tipperary Under 21 'A' Hurling Final last Sunday.

Played in ideal conditions and in front of a big crowd, it proved to be the proverbial game of two halves as Toomevara looked dead and buried in an opening half as Kilruane, led by Cian Darcy, appeared to have complete control of the game as they scored eight unanswered points in the opening nineteen minutes before Toome opened their account on 22 minutes.

The revival continued from there and by half time the winners trailed 0-9 to 0-3. James Cleary’s point for Kilruane in the opening minute of the second half was a momentarily setback before the Toome began to overwhelmed Kilruane with an eleven point unanswered run.

Toomevara won the last 45 minutes (including additional time at the end of each half) 0-14 to 0-2, as they joined Kilruane at the top of the roll of honour to claim their twelfth title, and their second in three years.
