Ardcroney First Responders launch

The launch of Ardcroney First Responders takes place on Friday, November 16th, at Ashley Park House, at 8pm. The Ardcroney Community First Responder group (ACFR) is a voluntary organisation, manned by local people who either work or live within the Ardcroney area. ACFR aim to improve the survival rate of out of hospital cardiac events in the Ardcroney area. The main objective of the group is to enforce the Chain of Survival; Early Access, Early CPR and Early Defibrillation.

Community First Responder groups provide the first response before the arrival of the emergency services. A first responder is a person, trained in basic life support and the use of a defibrillator, who attends an actual or potentially life-threatening emergency. The Ardcroney Community First Responder Group received formal training and signed up to a programme with the National Ambulance Service to provide that immediate response in their area. The group went live with the HSE on September 16th.

The aim of this night is to formally launch the group and to highlight their existence to the people of Ardcroney and surrounding area. Also in attendance on the night will be other local councillors, Mark Callanan, Community Engagement Officer, National Ambulance Service, members of The Irish Heart Foundation and the Guardian newspaper. The organisers hope that you will be in a position to attend and would like to thank you for your help and support to date.
