Switch video exhibition in Nenagh

Switch 2018 is the 10th year of the popular art event in Nenagh. Beginning in 2008 the switch art project has shown 80 video works on the streets of Nenagh from Irish and international artists. From Super 8 films, film shorts, computer animations and performance to camera as well as time lapse photography, a wide and varied selection of works within the field of video art and digital media has been exhibited.

 

This years event brings you some treasures and runs from November 5th to 12th. Through happened upon chats and conversations with Nenagh folk as the events played, some favourites emerged.

 

The “girl on the swing” incidentally the very first work switched on in 2008 in the former Dunnes Stores, “Berlin” which played in a space that awaited a jewellers on Market Cross, to “a song for Dylan” which kept a shopkeeper company as the evening darkened and the days business drew to a close.
