Forde looking to build on positive 2018

It's been a pretty positive 2018 so far for Jason Forde, and it could get better this weekend, with the Allianz League top-scorer in line for a Pwc Hurling All-Star at the Convention Centre on Friday night.

Solid personal displays in league and Championship; a Fitzgibbon Cup medal with UL and an appearance for Ireland in the Senior Shinty-Hurling International a fortnight ago against Scotland in Inverness, have been some of Forde's major highlights of the last 12 months.

It was nice to get to play for Ireland and mix with other lads from other counties,” Forde told the Guardian.

We were a bit unlucky with the result in the end, but the lads made a fair fist of it and it was great to be involved.

It was nice to get an All-Star nomination after the year we had, we were only a small bit away from getting through to the Munster final. A width of the post against Clare was the difference between us getting on further in the Championship.

The Championship is a minefield now and it's going to be hard to get out of Munster from here on in. The games are very competitive and if we can win a game or two early on it would set you up well.

Unfortunately for us we were gone in June and that was always a possibility that could happen,” he said.
