County Senior Hurling final day remains an occasion of immense frustration for Nenagh Eire Og as their wait for a second title goes on.

The hope was the pain of the defeats in 99, 06, 13 & 15 would be finally banished last Sunday but instead it was Clonoulty-Rossmore who ended their own lengthy wait as they overwhelmed Nenagh in the final ten minutes to claim the Dan Breen Cup.

A point to the good after 55 minutes, Nenagh couldn't see it out as Clonoulty-Rossmore found that little bit extra down the home straight, scoring the last five points to claim a four point win which certainly didn't flatter them.

While it was a tight contest all through with Nenagh having their noses in front on five occasions, they never fully imposed themselves on the game as it was Clonoulty-Rossmore who were on the front foot for most of the contest, even if it was only late on when they reflected it on the scoreboard.

The West Tipp side imposed their will on proceedings, playing in the same vein as they have done throughout all their games, keeping things tight at the back and then opening up the space into the forwards.
