​​​​​​​Assessing the potential new faces

With the club hurling championship season in the county winding down with just the junior and under 21 championships to be completed, it provides a time to reflect.

It has been a year of change and this is something I will reflect on in the weeks ahead but with the senior and intermediate grades having been completed, it will allow new Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy to fine-tune his first panel for 2018 and make the final calls to players that will have been allowed focus on the final stages of championships in recent weeks.

Most potential senior players will already be well known coming from minor and under 21 grades so based on that, as well as the club championships in recent weeks, here’s are my the best 15 hurlers not currently on the Tipperary senior hurling panel.

Barry Hogan (Kiladangan) – Took his opportunity because of injury to start in the All Ireland Under 21 semi-final against Galway. Ultra-consistent for Kiladangan in the last three years over with his ability to make pinpoint puckouts a huge asset.
