Seventh heaven for Burgess-Duharra

Clonoulty/Rossmore 0-8

Burgess/Duharra won their seventh County Senior Camogie Championship title in a row with ease when they beat a disappointing Clonoulty/Rossmore side in the final on Saturday.

The champions have made camogie history in the county by clinching in style their seventh consecutive title, a feat that no other club has ever done. Cashel won six-in-a-row between ’86 and ’91, as did Toomevara between 1992 and 1p97.

In absolutely dreadful weather conditions with the rain pouring down throughout, the masters of the senior code Duharra, had way too much for the first time finalists Clonoulty/Rossmore who were obviously overwhelmed by the occasion but they will go away all the wiser from this outing.
