Tipp and Kilkenny legends to unite for Amanda Stapleton Benefit Fund

Tipperary and Kilkenny have produced some of the greatest hurling matches in modern times over the last decade and some of those great players will don their county colours one more time next month for a terrific cause.

Hurling legends from Tipperary v Kilkenny will meet once again at Bishop Quinlan Park, Borrisoleigh on Saturday, 3rd November at 6.00pm in support of the Amanda Stapleton Benefit Fund.

Borrisoleigh native Amanda (31), sister of 2 time All Ireland medal winner and Guardian hurling championship columnist Paddy Stapleton, has been diagnosed with cancer which has meant she has been unable to work in recent months.

Her family, friends and parish have rallied around to set-up a fund to allow her focus on her treatment and for her to do the things she had planned to do in the coming months. So far a gofundme page online has generated over €45,000 in donations as they look to hit a target of €100,000.

As well as the match on the evening, there will also be a marquee on site with a fully-licensed bar and live music playing until late into the night - something for everyone in what will be an extraordinary evening’s entertainment. Tickets are €20 for adults with entry for all under-16s free.

Earlier in the day, the Borrisoleigh Track-Attack Club have organised a Club Colours 5k Fun Run where competitors can wear their club colours to support such a worth cause. Entry into the Fun Run is €5.
