Logan lashes out in Classic style

The greyhound racing classic trail never goes cold for long amidst a busy Open class competition schedule and with the dust only just settled on the brilliant runner-up performance of Magical Bale in the 2018 Irish Greyhound Derby, trainer Pat Guilfoyle is firmly back on the hunt for major success following a sensational performance from Skywalker Logan in the second round heats of the Dublin Coach Juvenile Derby.

Third, when recovering from last place in his opening round heat, Skywalker Logan (Tarsna Havana/Sizzling Sarah) would remind the greyhound public why all those who witnessed his career start at Thurles believed that he would become a star of the sport when becoming one of only a handful of greyhounds to ever break the 28.00 barrier for 525 yards by streaking to a sublime victory at Shelbourne Park on Friday.

Breaking on terms from Trap 5, he would just edge his way to the front on the approach to the first bend and forcefully claiming the lead when sweeping across his closest rivals, quickly put the result beyond any reasonable doubt. Bounding clear to a near eight length verdict over Ballydoyle Alarm, those who know Logan best knew that the clock simply had to read something very special and the figures of 27.99 duly confirmed that Skywalker Logan is one of the fastest that the sport has ever seen.
