Borrisokane's bid to return to the senior hurling ranks in the county suffered a fatal blow at the hands of a far superior Cashel King Cormacs side following a one-sided County Intermediate Hurling Championship semi-final on Saturday afternoon.

Standing in their path were a Cashel side bidding to return to senior status after a four-year hiatus, a side that proved far too strong in the finish for a Borris’ side minus the services of the influential Shane Dooley through injury.

With both this year’s intermediate finalists promoted to Roinn 2 of the senior championship, the prize on offer on Saturday was huge for both clubs and from the get-go it appeared Borrisokane were well in with a shout of overturning a strong Cashel outfit coached by former Tipp hurler, Conor Gleeson.
