A busy few days in North Tipperary & District League action with 18 games across the three junior divisions and the under 17 league.

The big game in the Premier Division saw Killavilla United get their league campaign back on track with a 5-1 rout of champions Thurles Town in the Greyhound Stadium. Villa’s scorers were Paul Kirwan with a brace and one apiece from Joe Moloney, Shane Moloney and Rory Murphy. The home side’s sole reply came from Eoin Marshall.

Nenagh Celtic travelled to Clodagh Rangers on Sunday and emerged comfortable winners on a 6-0 scoreline. Goals from Danny Ryan (2), Enrico Casey, Paul Walsh, Sean Doyle and Brian Mitchell see the Nenagh side move joint top of the league with Killavilla.

Keeping the pressure on Villa and Celtic are BT Harps and they continued their recent good form with a 2-1 win over Portumna Town. Alan O’Meara got on the scoresheet for Portumna but goals from Ben Stapleton and Dean McEnroe ensured that the Templemore side emerged with all three points to keep in touch at the top of the division, with a game in hand.

At the other end of the table, Borroway Rovers moved clear of the relegation places with a 4-2 away victory against Holycross FC. A brace apiece for Calum O’Connor and Keith Moore secured the win for the Thurles side while Jo Jo O’Meara and John King found the net for Holycross, who find themselves in a precarious position without a win so far this season.
