Gopsies Daughter scores again for Denis Hogan

A winner over the course earlier in the month when she took plenty of money out of the ring, the Denis Hogan trained Gopsies Daughter returned to the Curragh on Saturday to contest the five furlong 40-74 handicap and duly did the business again in the hands of Killian Leonard.

On paper this eighteen runner contest looked an extremely tricky affair but Punters kept faith in the seven-year-old and supported her from 7&8/1 into 5/1 joint favourite.

Racing up the stand side, Gopsies Daughter was always up with the pace and Leopard asked her for her effort inside the two furlong marker and from there she found plenty to hit the front well inside the final furlong before landing the spoils by half a length from Verhoyen. This was a courageous display a teak tough mare as she continues to defy the handicapper. Hogan has placed her well and it would be a brave person who would doubt her ability to add to what was her fifth success.
