Tipp relieved to be back in a semi-final

Tipperary manager Bill Mullaney had a big broad smile from ear to ear and his delight was very evident after his side secured progression to the All Ireland semi-final.

He was full of praise for the entire panel of players “because they do everything we ask of them and what more can you want,” he began.

I’m so delighted for the girls, for the management for the county and for the clubs and for our dedicated supporters who have travelled this journey with us all year because it’s them that have got us this far.

I’m absolutely over the moon for them all and we have a super group of players in the senior panel and another super bunch in the Intermediate panel who have done so well in reaching the All Ireland semi-final.”

He reminded how important this progress is doing the county proud, knowing this is absolutely great for camogie, with the same management steering both the seniors and Intermediate squads in the right direction.

Reflecting on the win over Waterford, Mullaney added: “I was delighted with the start the girls built up which was to stand to us in the end.

It was a quarter final and by their nature quarter finals are always a tough outing and this was no different. It was a tough quarter final and that’s what we expected but I’m delighted that we were tougher, we dug it out, stood tall when it counted. We were under savage pressure there at stages and they (Waterford) could have gone any place but our girls dug deep when it really mattered most,” he said.
