Nenagh renew rivalry with Kiladangan in the North semi-final

North semi-finals to re-ignite club championship action

After the hiatus for the inter-county championship, the club championships get back underway in earnest this week with club games in all three divisions.

Last Sunday saw Killenaule regain the South title while this Wednesday and Friday sees the Mid host their divisional semi-finals.

Here in North Tipperary, it is a Friday evening bonanza with both semi-finals taking place. While it's not ideal both games are taking place simultaneously, big crowds should be drawn to Templederry and Dolla for two intriguing contests.

For all four clubs, it almost feels like a new season is starting, despite it being mid championship with action having already taken place in April but that form guide goes out the window with all four clubs having taken a mini-break over the last two months or so.

KILADANGAN v NENAGH EIRE OG

Kenyon Park, Templederry

Friday 27th July

Throw-in @ 7.15pm (E.T.)

Referee: Conor Doyle (Silvermines)

It has been a long break when you consider you finish up at the end of April and you are waiting for your next game at the end of July, it is nice to get back on the road again" - Nenagh manager John Fitzgerald.

We took a 2-3 weeks off, no hurling whatsoever and gave lads a full break. We left May and June for lads who wanted to take holidays. The minute we knew what Tipp's fate was we went back more intense in terms of training and have been at that for the last month." - Kiladangan manager Garry Byrne

KILRUANE MACDONAGHS v TOOMEVARA

Dolla

Friday 27th July

Throw-in @ 7.15pm (E.T.)

Referee: Philip Kelly (Ballinahinch)

The break was tricky enough and it was hard enough to manage it,”  - Toomevara joint-manager Denis Kelly.

When we finished up in April, we took six weeks off. Even though we had a league game or two in the middle, we just played them and didn't train. We came back around the second week in June" - Kilruane manager Liam O'Shea.
