Sunday Zumba for the BSR!

Well done to everyone who took part in last Sunday's 'Zumbathon' in aid of the Ballycommon Sponsored Ride, which has now raised more than €56,000 for local cancer services.

Organised by Christine Nevin, more than 60 people were involved in the Zumba dance workout at Nenagh's Scouts Hall. Big thanks to Paudie Grace for providing the sound system, Billy McNamara for making the Scouts Hall available, and to Paul Mitchell for keeping an eye on proceedings.

They raised a total of €859 for BSR 2018 to cap another great weekend for the event, which is this year being held in support of North Tipperary Hospice and the Suaimhneas Cancer Support Centre in Nenagh.

A presentation and auction night was held at The Thatched Cottage in Ballycommon on Saturday, at which around €10,000 was raised. Thanks to everyone who took part in what was a thoroughly enjoyable night with some great items available. Anyone with sponsorship cards or monies still to donate is asked to please contact 087-2430546.

The total amount raised from this year's BSR will be presented to the recipients at Mac Mathúna's bar, Nenagh, on Saturday June 23rd. Mac Mathúna's will host the presentation night as the venue that raised the greatest amount in the 'Celebrity Wall' challenge. Special thanks to Mike Richardson (jockey), Mike Flannery (trainer) and Mairéad Cooney for looking after the PR.
