Kearns angered by lack of fairness ahead of defining Cork clash

Tipperary manager Liam Kearns wasn't going to miss an opportunity to attack the Munster Council over their decision to force his side to play a provincial semi-final against Cork next Saturday, just seven days after a provincial quarter final.

It’s a disgrace that decision is one of the worst that I’ve ever come across. I’ve been with the county and I’ve been with county and with clubs over 20 years as a manager, I think it was one of the worst decisions,” said a clearly frustrated Tipperary manager who has been severely irked by the decision since it was made over a month ago.

The integrity of the competition has been completely compromised. Cork have now got an advantage over us. It should be a level playing field.

The stats say that say that the team with a six-day turnaround don’t win. We are determined that it won’t be won in the committee room, it’s not going to be won in a boardroom. It’s going to be won out there in the field and we will be here in six days time because we will be here to play.

It’s an absolute disgrace. I don’t know how they came up with the decision.

And that is being straight and honest. They are years planning and with a stroke of the pen they put it all into jeopardy."
