No Nenagh street works for Christmas

There will be no street closures for Ervia works in Nenagh in the run-up to Christmas, councillors were assured at a recent Nenagh Municipal District meeting.

District Director Marcus O'Connor said the council would be upholding its policy of not allowing disruptive works in the town centre after December 7th. Ervia crews might still be present but all roads would be open.

Mr O'Connor pointed out that the council recently refused a Gas Networks Ireland application for a closure order on Stafford St up to December 21st. He expected a new application would be made for early January.

The meeting was informed that a public meeting on the new traffic management plan for Nenagh, which proposes a one-way system for the town, will take place in January.
