Permission granted for Nenagh day care centre

Tipperary Co Council has granted conditional planning permission for the provision of a day care centre in Nenagh.

St Cronan's Association Ltd, which provides services to local people with disabilites, is to open the centre at the entrance of the Melrose housing estate.

The plan involves demolishing an existing domestic garage, constructing extensions to the sides and rear of an existing dwelling house, and changing its use from residential to day care centre. Provision of on-site parking is included in the application.

After receiving a submission from the Melrose Residents Association and further information from the applicant, the council has granted planning permission subject to nine conditions. One of these states that the total number of service users attending the day care centre shall not exceed 35 at any one time, unless otherwise agreed in writing by the planning authority. The facility is not to open for business outside the hours of 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. It is to be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and all public/bank holidays.
