Anam Cara Tipperary Bereavement Information Evening

Anam Cara, the national organisation that provides support services to bereaved parents and families, are hosting a Bereavement Information Evening in the Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles, Co. Tipperary. This event will be held on Monday March 7, from 7.30pm-9.30pm. The event will give parents an oppertunity to hear an experienced bereavement professional talk about the many challenges that families may face after the death of their son or daughter.

The guest speaker of the night will be Kathleen O'Connor. Kathleen has a degree in Social Science and a Masters in Pastoral Care. She has worked as a community worker in inner city Dublin before going to Boston College to obtain her Masters. She trained as a counsellor and a clinical pastoral educator while working in a Mental Health Centre in Providence Rhode Island. Having arrived back in Ireland she worked as Director of Pastoral Care in Tallaght Hospital. As part of her work in this role she facilitated bereavement groups for those bereaved by suicide. She moved to Cork in 2005 and facilitated a training program for those involved in pastoral care at University Hospita, Cork.

This event is open to all bereaved parents, regardless of the age of their child or the circumstances of their death and is provided free of charge to parents. There will also be time on the evening to ask questions and to talk to other bereaved parents.

If you have attended a previous Bereavement Information Evening, we would encourage you to come again because each time you will hear something different that will help you along the difficult and challenging journey of grief.

Anam Cara will need to confirm numbers for this event. We would appreciate if you could RSVP to info@anamcara.ie before Friday March 4, 2016 or contact us on 01 4045378 or 087 9637790.
