Gerry O'Brien will be among the performers at St Mary of the Rosary on Sunday night.

Chruch concert in Nenagh

Local singer Gerry O'Brien will be joined by fellow musicians Kathleen Costelloe and Kevin Carroll for an evening of music at the Church of St Mary of the Rosary this Sunday, December 20th.

The event, which commences at 7.30pm, will feature something for everyone. There will be classic church pieces, including 'The Holy Gift', 'The Battle Hymn of the Republic', and 'Panis Angelicus'. There will also be contemporary classics – 'Unchained Melody', 'Hallelujah' and 'Somewhere My Love'.
Grace Clifford will join the group for a collection of Irish songs, among them 'You Raise Me Up', 'Bright Blue Rose', 'The Homes of Donegal' and 'Danny Boy'. The night will also feature country classics 'Tennessee Waltz' and 'Always On My Mind', and, of course, a sublime selection of festive hits. Come and enjoy the likes of 'Fly Me to the Moon', 'Little Ol' Wine Drinker Me', 'White Christmas', 'Winter Wonderland', 'Silent Night', 'When a Child is Born' and 'Holy Night'.
As well as performing the songs, well known and much loved singer Gerry will tell the stories behind them.

The night will also be a show of solidarity with Kilkeary's Annie Dunne and her family, following her recent accident in Australia. There will be a collection for the Dunne family on the night.
Note also that the event will be streamed on the parish website so people who are abroad can watch it and people back home can wave back! Those in attendance may however want to bring a newspaper to sit on! The concert will last for approximately one hour and 30 minutes.
Tickets can be purchased from JKC's, Pearse St, Nenagh. Gerry would like to thank Fr Des and the Parish Council for the use of St Mary's for this event.
