On your marks for 40th annual Christmas Day run in Nenagh

The 40th annual Christmas Day Charity Run in Nenagh is expected to attract a large turnout of runners, joggers, walkers and even cyclists who are welcome to take part in the event.

Organised by Tony Hassett, the four-mile run will start as usual from the CBS grounds at 11am.

Over the past forty years Tony has seen participation in the 'run' grow from a small group of enthusiastic runners in the early days to what has now become a landmark fixture of the festive season, attracting large groups of athletes, joggers, walkers and cyclists.

Almost 200 took part in the event last year, and Tony is urging as many people as possible to show up again this December 25th to tackle the four mile route.

It's all in a good cause, with option contributions to a bucket collection being donated to the Nenagh Day Care Centre.

In keeping with the festive spirit, the names of all those taking part will be entered in a free draw for numerous spot prizes.
